Marci Martel, Ph.D. LCMHC has worked in the counseling field for over
fifteen years. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella
University in 2008. Dr. Martel has worked in residential treatment centers for adolescents, worked with child protective services to meet federal and state guidelines for children in foster care, and has extensive experience working with reunification of families.
She has helped hundreds of patient achieve their therapeutic goals through a collaborative approach and integrates various frameworks of therapy to address trauma, anxiety, and phobias.
Dr. Martel has served as an expert witness at trial for those suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and provided expert testimony in child abuse, domestic violence and custody hearings.
Dr. Martel teaches graduate courses in ethics, neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, qualitative analysis and has extensive undergraduate teaching experience. Her research interests are the efficacy of EMDR in the reduction of negative cognitions. She is working at the University level to conduct research on this topic.
